One way of getting into Book cover design as a career is to pick a load of your favorite books and design book covers for them. These covers are how I got started. I love them for that reason.

The Internet Archive is compiling a vast library of Internet sites and cultural artifacts in digital form that are free for use (go check it out).
What most interested me about their Flickr feed were the off cuts and unusual random elements that got scanned along the way. Something very human was captured in this process (the mistake, the human glitch).
The brief for this jacket came my way and it seemed a really good fit to work with some of this “ghost in the machine” imagery.
